Week 2 at Connected Talent

Week 2 at Connected Talent

It is the end of my second week here at Connected Talent and I feel that I am doing great. I am getting a better feel for the busy business environment and its’ real life challenge. I have witnessed how Connected Talent calmly and professionally find appropriate solutions when faced with difficult situations. This has given me a lot of prospective for the future on how I should deal with challenges in the workplace and in life.

This week I have learnt how important communication is for a business to operate smoothly and efficiently. Connected Talent have offices in four different locations, therefore it is essential that they maintain a good network of communication. This is so that they are clear on objectives and that everyone is on the same page at all times. Emails play an important role in Connected Talent’s communication as they allow instant formal communication across their offices and gives them the ability to keep records. Connected Talent also rely heavily on oral communication. When there is lots to discuss, they organise meetings or schedule phone calls. Being in the workplace, I have exercised efficient communication and record keeping. I believe these are skills that are very important and that I will use throughout my career.

I am now halfway through my internship and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I am gaining transferrable skills and knowledge every day and my confidence is increasing significantly. I am positive that I have a lot more to learn and, like a wet sponge, I plan on squeezing every drop off wisdom out of this experience.
